What is Self Storage, and how does it work?

How do I know what size I will need to store my belongings?

When Can I access my Storage Unit?

At StorSafe® Self Storage we believe that you should be able to access your unit on your terms, so that is why we offer 24/7 access.  No need to work around office hours, our secure locations are available to you 365 days a year.  

Do I need a lock for my unit?

Yes, you do need a lock, which you can purchase from us at the time of move-in.  

Are your units checked for pests and rodents?

StorSafe® Self Storage takes pest control very seriously.  Every location has a scheduled visit with a pest control company to help make sure your belongings are as pest and rodent-free as possible.  

When is my rent due?

StorSafe® Self Storage likes to make it easy for our customers to remember when their rent is due, so we make it the 1st of the month.  Payment received after the 1st of the month can be subject to a late payment fee.

We are cashless and accept the following:

Do I need Insurance to store my items?

Keeping your belongings safe is a top priority at StorSafe® Self Storage. In case of any unexpected events, it's essential to have storage insurance to secure the value of your belongings. If you already have a homeowners or renters insurance policy that covers self-storage use, you are not obligated to purchase insurance on your storage unit. However, suppose you don't have an existing homeowners or renters insurance policy that provides coverage. In that case, you will need to purchase storage unit insurance while completing your lease to ensure the safety of your stored items. You can check out SafeLease Protect Plans that we offer.

Do I need a Valid ID to rent a Unit?

Yes, you need a valid ID: a state issued ID, driver's license, passport, or military ID

What is an Administrative fee?

This is a fee we collect at the time of signing your lease to cover processing your paperwork in our system.  The is a one-time fee.

Are their moving carts or dollies provided?

A lot of our facilities have moving carts provided at the facility.  If you have questions or need assistance, in finding out if your facility has a moving cart, please contact us at 888.952.STOR

How do I know if I need a climate-controlled unit?

If you are looking for a safe place to store valuable items like clothing, electronics, furniture, antiques, books, or musical instruments, we highly recommend climate-controlled storage. This type of storage maintains a temperature between 55 and 80 degrees throughout the year, which is ideal for preserving the quality of your belongings. What can I not store in my storage unit?

For your safety and the safety of others at our facilities, the following are not allowed to be stored:

  • Hazardous or flammable materials and/or liquids

  • Explosives

  • Food

  • Any container that did contain food or perishable items

  • Toxic materials

  • Control substance

  • Dead or living organisms

Can I store my motorcycle or car in a storage unit?

Yes, you can store your motorcycle or car in a storage unit.  We offer a variety of sizes and locations.  Check out all our locations and what we have to offer.

What’s the process for moving out?

Before moving out, you must provide us with written notice at least ten days ahead of moving out – you can do this here: https://www.storsafe.com/contact. On your scheduled move-out day, make sure your unit is completely empty, your lock has been removed, and text a picture of your unit to the number provided to you onsite.

What happens if I leave items in my storage unit?

If you forget to remove your belongings from the storage unit after moving out or stopping payment, please get in touch with us at 888.952.STOR to retrieve them. If you fail to retrieve your items in a timely manner, the storage unit may be sold at auction. Please be aware that the account will not be moved out if there are items left behind, and it could continue to accrue storage fees until it is sold at auction. The specific time frame for when past-due accounts are sent to auction may vary depending on the state laws.
